Hello I’m Chris

Hi,

My name’s Chris, I’ve been living in Chippenham for about a year, previously lived in Bristol and Dublin, Ireland.

I used to be a programmer but moved into information security about 12 years ago, as it seemed I was better at breaking things than building them. Now I do a bit of both, working as a Security Engineer which is a healthy mix of security and coding. I’ve worked with Java, C#, Python, Ruby, JS, Powershell, Bash….basically whatever’s needed to get the job done! I probably use Python the most these days, with a bit of bash.

I have an Arduino, a couple of Pi’s and a bunch of components all hidden a box somewhere because with work and family I never have the time to work on projects! Well, one of the Pi’s is currently a retro games station so at least it’s getting some use.

I really enjoy working on automation projects, especially with networked devices. I am at best a total amateur with electronics so a meet up like this would be a fantastic opportunity to learn a bit more by working on projects with others.
